PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Custom handles for original Abarth 500 seats, for replacement or repair, produced using 3D printing technology.
Sold as a pair, right + left, or individually in the relevant selection.
For any stock 500 Abarth seat, leather or fabric (any year, not Sabelt or Punto). Except for one special fabric model, generally Turismo MY19-21, which does not have the frame and exposed cords (please check before purchasing).
Available in two variants, carbon-look and leather-look, with red, black, or yellow webbing.
Only the strap is also available on request or in the dedicated listing (the strap has now been reinforced with additional stitching points and glue).
INSTALLATION:
The procedure can be carried out by anyone, but it requires some manual dexterity and patience.
After removing the original handle (videos of the procedure are available on YouTube), the new handle must be secured with cable ties. The strap must be attached at the bottom to the ball on the metal cable using the supplied cable tie (see the gallery photos).
Next, the pull cords in the backrest must be secured with cable ties so they remain taut with less travel (see the photos); otherwise, excessive travel could cause the strap to come out of its housing and require excessive force to release the mechanism (as well as causing the mechanism to lock before reaching the required tension due to the internal plastic stop).
The supplied rubber strip should be placed around the metal part (the frame sheet metal) to prevent it from rubbing against the webbing and cutting the stitching (see the last photo, with the yellow indicator); alternatively, you can leave the travel longer by loosening the cords, so that the strap touches the metal part as little as possible.
The cover, which is only used for support and closure, is screwed on like the original (it is important to screw it in straight and not tighten it too much, or the plastic may break).
Before tightening and closing everything, test the operation and movement, checking that the cable ties have been placed in the correct positions so that the strap does not rub against the frame and cut the stitching. It is important to check the tension and rubbing points; if installed incorrectly, the strap could tear or be cut by the metal part. If this happens, the webbing can still be resewn an “infinite” number of times.
